Esta pasta la utilizo principalmente en acebuches o en árboles de corteza oscura.
Nunca para cortes grandes, puesto que no fomenta la cicatrización, sino que simplemente sella, para prevenir la deshidratación del corte y la entrada de agentes patógenos que puedan perjudicar el flujo de savia en el futuro.
Es muy útil en las ramillas de diámetro inferior a 5mm, ya que al ser líquida y venir con un aplicador delgado y largo es muy fácil de aplicar.
¿Sería entonces mejor sustituirla por la pasta selladora sólida? Para cortes de hasta 5mm no. La aplicación de la pasta solida requiere maña, humedecerse los dedos, etc. está indicada para cortes mayores de 5mm, donde sinceramente, no me parece que exista nada mejor.
Lo ideal es tener ambas y utilizar una u otra según el tamaño del corte. Merece la pena tenerlas, además, bien utilizadas te pueden durar incluso años si tu colección no es descomunal.
Esta pasta líquida es la me más me gusta utilizar en los injertos de aproximación, porque fija algo al secar y sobre todo se mete por los resquicios y aísla los cortes de la entrada de aire, que podría ser perjudicial.

Liquid sealing paste for conifers 90ml

I use this paste mainly on wild olive trees or trees with dark bark.
Never for large cuts, as it does not promote healing, but simply seals, to prevent dehydration of the cut and the entry of pathogens that may impair sap flow in the future.
It is very useful on twigs with a diameter of less than 5mm, as it is liquid and comes with a long thin applicator, making it very easy to apply.
Would it then be better to replace it with the solid sealing paste? Not for cuts up to 5mm. Applying the solid paste requires dexterity, wet fingers, etc. It is suitable for cuts larger than 5mm, where I honestly don’t think there is anything better.
The ideal is to have both and use one or the other depending on the size of the cut. It’s worth having them, and if you use them well, they can last for years if you don’t have a huge collection.
This liquid paste is the one I like to use the most in the approach grafts, because it fixes something when drying and above all it gets into the cracks and isolates the cuts from the entry of air, which could be harmful.
